Global pandemics, it turns out, make the work of Lyme disease educators and advocates about 1000 times more challenging.  This past spring, as ticks were biting their way throughout the country, those of us who customarily sound the alarms have been hobbled.  Pandemic protocol doesn’t allow for the distribution of flyers around communities nor for the public presentation of informational programs.  We’ve missed being at fairs, outdoor markets, trade shows, and all the other events that had to be canceled this year. It’s even difficult to get news coverage in the face of something as all-consuming as the COVID-19 crisis.  We haven’t even been able to hold our fund-raising events, even though we had many friends eager to attend!

Never ones to let obstacles deter us (we deal with Lyme disease, after all), we have a new plan, and hope you’ll take advantage of it and spread the word!  The Lyme Action Network is planning a series of ZOOM PRESENTATIONS where, since you can’t come to us, we’ll come to YOU!  All presentations will be ZOOM-based, live-streamed by experts in fields of interest to our Lyme and tick-borne diseases community members. Our plan is to record these presentations so that you may watch them after the event if you miss the first showing.  ZOOM is very easy to use, doesn’t require any formal membership, and if you have an internet connection and a computer or mobile device, you probably can join our audience.

On September 10, 2020, the Lyme Action Network will introduce our first ZOOM PRESENTATION, featuring Nitya Jessica Eisenheim, N.D., discussing the naturopathic approach to the care and healing of patients suffering with Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. Learn what a holistic approach to tick-borne diseases means and what that might entail; discover why you may still be sick even though your labs are “normal” despite having taken antibiotics already; and learn about Dr. Eisenheim’s unique approach to Lyme recovery.

Dr. Nitya Jessica Eisenheim, N.D., is a naturopathic physician who is passionate about herbal medicine, cooking, healthy food and community building. Nitya grew up in New York City going to conventional doctors. She did not know a dandelion from a tomato plant, muchless realize that plants can actually heal you. Dr. Eisenheim has had the opportunity to treat hundreds of patients in all stages of Lyme disease while mentoring with Dr. Emily Maiella at Windhorse Naturopathic Clinic in Brattleboro, VT. As many of her family members have suffered from incorrect treatment of Lyme disease, she also is passionate about preventing Lyme disease from becoming a chronic illness. Dr. Eisenheim, graduated from Bastyr University, a leading research and educational institution. For more information, see her website at www.cedarroseheals.com.

Participation in the live event will be limited to 100 participants. The session will be recorded and posted on LAN’s YouTube Channel after the event.
